Donald Trump released on Sunday a detailed plan on immigration reform policy issues. Trump wants to overrule the law that grants citizenship to people born within the United States and apply authoritarian limits on the legalization of immigration.
Trump's stern vision regarding immigration placed him above the other candidates on polls. After being asked for specific reforms, he explained that it will be mandatory for Mexico to pay for a wall that will be built on its U.S. border, CNN reported.
Conservative authorities have been hitting Trump hard regarding his candidacy. This immigration reform proposal will change the game for him, and those who turn him down will realize he is a serious candidate.
The proposal entitled, "Immigration Reform That Will Make America Great Again", calls an end for birthright citizenship stating that it "remains the biggest magnet for illegal immigration," according to ABC News.
Trump's plan aims to, "impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards - of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico."
The issue on illegal immigrants has been the focus of Trump's campaign putting him under fire. He claims that Mexico throws its criminals and rapists into the U.S. putting American citizens at risk. Trump said that, "Mexico's leaders have been taking advantage of the United States by using illegal immigration to export the crime and poverty in their own country," the New York Times reported.
Trump announced his plan before joining an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday.
