U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is stopping by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Thursday night. It is assumed that Kerry plans to talk about leading negations with Iran about the country's nuclear program, Deadline reported. The secretary of state is currently in New York City, where "The Late Show" is filmed, for the United Nations General Assembly.

Kerry is just the latest political figure who has gone on Colbert's show. Colbert has welcomed presidential hopefuls Jeb Bush, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and Vice President Joe Biden. He has also spoken to Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz. During Colbert's discussion with the Texas senator, the audience booed Cruz for his views on marriage equality in the U.S.

Kerry and Colbert are already well acquainted with each other. The two have spoken together before during the host's time at Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" in 2007 where Colbert provided the politician with a rare look into his backstage persona.

Kerry joins the shows previously announced guests Claire Danes and YouTube comedian PewDiePie on Oct. 1.

Tonight, Colbert will sit down and talk with First Lady Michelle Obama about her "Let Girls Learn" and "Reach Higher" plans. "Let Girls Learn" aims to help young girls attend school, while "Reach Higher" tries to inspire students into pursuing higher education and proves career opportunities as well as financial aid.
