Evan Peters is a longtime "American Horror Story" veteran and has starred in all five seasons of the critically acclaimed FX anthology series. Peters made his first appearance on the new season Wednesday night in the episode titled "Chutes and Ladders," where he plays the serial killer and builder of the Hotel Cortez, Mr. James March.

Peters' character Mr. March was a mass murderer who built the Hotel Cortez to act as his personal murder playground. The character of March was inspired by H.H. Holmes, who is widely known as America's first serial killer. Holmes built a real life murder castle in Chicago in the late 1800s. The castle is also an inspiration for the Hotel Cortez in "American Horror Story."

"I would be scared of me," Peters told Variety of his "Hotel" character.

"I love what he's doing and he's very heavy this season," co-creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly of Peters' character. "He's having a ball. It's always a good thing when you have an actor who texts you after a scene, 'That was the most f-ed up but exhilarating thing I was forced to do.'"

Peters also spoke about the connection between season one of "American Horror Story," known as "Murder House," and the current season. When asked if Tate, his fan-favorite character from season one, would appear this season in a flashback, the actor laughed the question off.

"I don't think so, but I don't know. You never know what could happen, but I haven't heard anything about that," he said.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" airs Wednesday's at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
