Anchorman 2 Release Date: Ben and Jerry's Introduces Ron Burgundy-Inspired Flavor to Promote December Flick (TRAILER)

It was back in March that Will Ferrell reprised his role as jazz flute playing newsman Ron Burgundy on an episode of Conan in order to announce that he had made a deal with the studio to make a follow-up to the popular comedy "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." Now, with the sequel a reality, Ben and Jerry's ice cream has created a new promotional flavor to honor the famous character's favorite flavor.

"Scotchy Scotch Scotch" is the new flavor from the famous ice cream company, a wink to one of Ferrell's famous lines from the original movie where he sings a small love song to his glass of liquor at his news desk without realizing the cameras were running.

The new flavor title combines butterscotch ice cream with ribbons of butterscotch swirl. According to the Associtated Press, via ABC News, the character of Ron Burgundy released a statement on the announcement where he pitched a few other flavors that Ben and Jerry's should consider making a reality as well.

"Malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter and cheap white wine sherbet." The flavor is currently available by the company's scoop shops throughout the country and will be made available in pints throughout stores over the course of the next few weeks.

"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" will see Burgundy and his fellow news crew travel to New York City to begin working for a national cable news network called GNN, according to the L.A. Times.

The film is due to hit theaters this December. In the meantime, check out the trailer for the film below and tell us what you think. It's complete with over the top jokes, well groomed hair and an RV filled with bowling balls and scorpions flipping over on the highway, you know, the basics.
