Blizzard has announced the newest expansion to the World of Warcraft, Warlords of Draenor.

The new title was revealed at BlizzCon 2013 with a trailer that revealed new character models and gave people a glimpse of Draenor the new area which consists of seven distinct zones.

According to IGN, newcomers to the game can boost their character up to level 90 as soon as possible while exploring six new five-player dungeons. They can also try their hand at new raids, two of which are planned for launch. There will also be a new joinable "seamlessly instanced" pvp zone complete with new bosses and new rewards on their way to the next level cap of 100.

As far as the story goes, characters from Warcraft's past including Grommash Hellscream, Blackhan and Ner'zhul will be encountered in the game.

Not only will there be hundreds of new quests coming with the expansion but players will be able to build and upgrade their very own Garrison and recruit NPC followers who can be used to collect resources and complete quests. You can upgrade your Garrison with a barracks; which allows more followers to be sent on missions at the same time, in infirmary; which can heal followers more quickly between your missions, an inn; this attracts new followers and a blacksmith; this researches new plans and crafts new resources. You can visit a friend's Garrison where he or she can trade resources with you.

In an attempt to bring back some older players and recruit some new ones, Drawnoe will offer an introductory area that is comparable to the one for Death Knights at the beginning of "Wrath of the Lich King." This will boost your character to level 90 very quickly and grant the character some level-appropriate items to get started.

"We know that many of you already strongly identify with the look of your current character, so we're dedicating a lot of time and resources to make sure these updates capture each race's iconic identity and personality," Blizzard said of the newly enhanced character models. "We're still in the process of determining which races will be available upon the expansion's release, but our goal is to update all eight of the original World of Warcraft playable races, along with the Draenei and Blood Elves, over the course of the expansion launch and subsequent content updates."

IGN also reports that the entire graphics engine will be getting an update as well. Although no specifics were given on that front, Blizzard says it will be announcing that exact system requirements once the expansion is closer to release.

Warlords of Draenor is slated for an unspecified time in 2014.
