While the cast of "Friends" have made it very clear that even though five out of six series regulars are coming together to honor TV director James Burrows for "Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows," it is absolutely not a "Friends" reunion, the cast of "Will & Grace" is saying the complete opposite!
On Feb. 21, the casts of several Burrows-directed shows - including "Friends," "Will & Grace," "Fraiser," "Mike & Molly," "Cheers," "Taxi" and "The Big Bang Theory" - will come together to pay tribute to the veteran director, who just directed his 1,000th show, and fans of these popular sitcoms couldn't be more excited to see the cast members of their favorite shows together once again.
Debra Messing and Sean Hayes, stars of "Will & Grace," have both confirmed that the get-togethers will absolutely be reunions.
After a fan tweeted, "The cast of 'Will & Grace' is reuniting for an NBC special...@DebraMessing CAN YOU CONFIRM," Messing quickly replied saying, "It's true," and added some party hat emojis.
While at the Television Critics Association press tour, Hayes also shared the exciting news.
"We've confirmed all casts from all shows. On Jan. 24 we tape, and it airs Feb. 21," he said, according to Hollywood Life. "It's the reunion of all reunion shows. It's going to be unlike anything everyone's ever seen."
"Will & Grace," which aired for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006, also starred Eric McCormack and Megan Mullally, who will be there for the special as well. There were 188 episodes of the hit sitcom, and Burrows worked on every single one of them.
"There is nobody with better TV comedy instincts than Jimmy Burrows and, because of his guiding hand, these remarkable shows will be forever celebrated and stand the test of time," said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, in a statement, according to E! News. "The caliber of talent joining us to celebrate Jimmy's accomplishments is a testament to his imprint in television history."
"Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows" will air on NBC Sunday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11 p.m. EST.
