This year's BAFTA awards were dominated by "The Revenant" and "Mad Max: Fury Road." "The Revenant" bagged five awards with "Mad Max" right behind in second place with four wins.

"The Revenant" took home the award for Best Film, Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, Best Director for Alejandro G Iñárritu, Best Cinematography for Emmanuel Lubezki and Best Sound at the 69th British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards on Sunday night at London's Royal Opera House, according to Deadline.

George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road" won big in the technical award categories, including Best Costume Design, Best Makeup & Hair, Best Production Design and Best Editing. The remaining technical category of Special Visual Effects was snapped up by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which also won the EE Rising Star BAFTA award, the only category voted for by the public, Variety reported.

Brie Larson won the Best Actress honor for her performance in "Room." Kate Winslet received a statue for Best Supporting Actress in "Steve Jobs" and Mark Rylance won the Best Supporting Actor category for "Bridge of Spies," which was tied with "Carol" for most nominations with nine, according to Entertainment Weekly.
