Chris Hemsworth may be a Hollywood superstar, but all he wants is to live a normal, simple life with his family.

The "Thor" actor, who features on the cover of Modern Luxury magazine's April issue, revealed why he moved back to his native Australia with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three kids.

"It's no longer all about me, which is quite refreshing," Hemsworth said to the magazine. "Acting is the most self-absorbed world, where you are thinking about your feelings...You are constantly having to self-analyze or analyze a character you are playing, so you are internalizing and thinking, thinking, thinking about me... It's just a horrible, noisy conversation. Once the kids arrived, I was like, 'Wow, this is what life is about.'"

The 32-year-old and the Spanish actress moved to the coastal town of Byron Bay last year with their 3-year-old daughter India and 2-year-old twins Tristan and Sasha in search of a more peaceful life.

"L.A. is a tough place to get around with kids," he said. "There's not a whole lot of foot traffic. It was all about loading up the car and car seats. Here, we just walk out the door and head to the beach down the street. It's a much more simple life."

"We were living shoulder to shoulder in the suburbs and thought that's not how we want our kids to grow up," he said about living in Los Angeles before adding that moving to a "farm setup" in his homeland was the best decision he made.

Hemsworth added that although he loves Hollywood and being an actor, it feels good to step away from the spotlight every now and then.

"I love what I do as an actor, but when you are surrounded by it constantly, it becomes a bit suffocating," he said about Hollywood. "It's nice to have conversations with people and be a part of a community that doesn't live and breathe that world."

Last year, the actor told a local newspaper that he and Pataky moved back to Australia for the sake of their children.

"We were living in California and it just wasn't conducive for the lifestyle that we wanted with kids," he said at the time. "Los Angeles is tricky to get around, there's paparazzi to deal with, and I had this feeling that I just wanted to move back to Australia."
