Congratulations to John Legend and Chrissy Teigen! The model and her singer husband welcomed their first child into the world on Thursday, April 14, when Teigen gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who the couple named Luna Simone.

Teigen announced the exciting news on Sunday on her Instagram. She posted a picture revealing that her daughter weighed in at six pounds and 11 ounces.

"She's here!" Teigen captioned the picture on Instagram. "Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy."

Legend also took to Twitter to announce the exciting news on Sunday. "Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn't be happier!" he said.

Teigen first announced the news of her pregnancy much like she revealed the birth of her daughter- on Instagram. The 30-year-old shared with her followers that she was expecting back in October and also said that she underwent IVF treatments in order to conceive her daughter. In the past, the model had been very open with the fact that her and Legend struggled to get pregnant.

"As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family," Teigen captioned an Instagram photo of the pair at the time. "We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!"

Teigen revealed the sex of her baby in December, and then in February, she said that she and her husband actually picked the gender.

"I've made this decision," Teigen said. "Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, 'Let's put in the girl.'"

"I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me," she continued. "It excited me to see ... just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along. We'll get there too, so it's not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa - it's crazy!"
