"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" hasn't even hit theaters, but a third Marvel film is reportedly in the works.
According to Variety, the film the directing duo Anthony and Joe Russo are ready to sign on to the third "Captain America" movie. However, Marvel has yet to confirm a third film for the franchise.
"Negotiations wouldn't begin untill after "Winter Soldier" bows but sources say Marvel has been so impressed with the production of the film, as well as with strong results from recent test screenings, that the studio has moved fast to attach the brothers to the next installment," Variety reports.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is slated to hit theaters on April 4.
The "Captain America" franchise isn't the only Marvel film making headlines. Marvel announced their upcoming "Ant-Man" movie adaptation's release date will be moved to July 17, 2015.
The release date might look familiar because it was originally slated for DC and Warner Bros. untitled "Man of Steel" sequel nicknamed "Batman vs. Superman".
Marvel also revealed on Jan. 13 actor Michael Douglas officially signed on to play Hank Pym alongside Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
"With Hank Pym's rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said in a statement. "We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn't be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life."
"Ant-Man" will reportedly begin filming later in 2014. Marvel Studios will also be releasing "Guardians of the Galaxy" on Aug. 1 and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" on May 1 to a theater near you.
