The Los Angeles Lakers are now on the outside of the postseason picture, after falling to No. 11 in the Western Conference, as the Dallas Mavericks crushed them on Tuesday's game for a 128-110 victory.

During the play, The Lakers only managed to narrow the margin to 18 points after a thrashing. On the night, Russell Westbrook had 25 points and Malik Monk had 28 points, shooting a combined 19-33 from the field. However, the clear issue was not one of scoring, but rather one of defense and effort.

The Dallas Mavericks' 82-point first half set a franchise record for most points allowed in a half since the team relocated to Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one slot below the play-in line, tied with the San Antonio Spurs in the loss column, and are almost guaranteed to win their tiebreaker due to their superior conference record.

With only seven games remaining, the Lakers are desperate to get their star players back, and there appears to be some positive news on that front.
