US media reports the USS Nimitz had a contaminated water leak which officers kept under wraps. A whistleblower reported this, who claimed the crew members were denied medical help.

USS Nimitz Officials Attempt To Conceal Fuel Leak

On the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, a US Navy whistleblower alleges his superior officers accused him of trying to mislead crew members about the severity of a fuel leak in their drinkable water and of rescinding medical attention once they got sick as a consequence of the poisoned liquid, reported the Business Insider.

An unidentified sailor spoke to the outlet, saying the denial resulted in the compounding of their health due to the intake of JP-5. Which is a jet fuel that is based on kerosene, noted RT.

The new report published last Saturday omitted the sailor's name due to concern over retaliation. The incident occurred in the middle of September when the nearly 3,000-person crew started noticing that the water they were using for drinking and taking showers had changed color and began to smell bad.

Accordingly, the ship's commanding officer and executive officer first recommended the crew only consume bottled water but later declared that the Nimitz's usual tap water seemed unsafe to use, citing Azerbaycan 24.

Attempts To Conceal Water Contamination Exposed

A whistleblower claimed crew members were bathing in the contaminated water and did not question the COs. They learned the rumors were confirmed the next day and were exposed to the contaminated ship water supply.

Ironically, those affected by nausea and bad skin rashes were not given medical help.

A whistleblower asserted that sailors had been directed to taste and smell the water for a minimum of the next ten days. Following Business Insider, the sailor's photograph shows a glass container filled with water with a deep green layer on top and a murky white layer at the bottom.

Commander Sean Robertson, a spokesman for the Navy, told the media in a statement that the health and safety of the sailors come first. Ten crew members had divulged health issues connected to taking JP-5, he affirmed.

Based on the Navy, its tests hardly discovered minuscule amounts of aviation fuel in the water. As of September 17, the USS Nimitz has been moored in San Diego, straying from its timetabled return to the sea the other week.

Steadily for the past November, the same carrier had to return to the docks because of an issue with the nuclear propulsion system.

Four families living close to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, sued the fleet in August because jet fuel had also been getting into their water supply.

A plaintiff contended that even after previously rejecting their worries, the fleet denied them access to appropriate medical care even though fuel tainted the water supply of around 93,000 people.

US media revealed that the USS Nimitz had a contaminated water leak that affected the crew but was ignored medical attention, said a whistleblower.
