Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed the press that Washington and its allies yet showed no interest, but the Russian and Turkish leaders were planning talks about the matter.

There is some hope that the West would be interceded by Turkey to resolve the escalation; Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan are scheduled to go to Kazakhstan this week.

Russia, Turkey Meeting

Peskov mentioned Astana is sponsoring summits of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building initiatives in Asia (CICA, October 13) as well as a formal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) scheduled for October 14, reported Euractiv.

Russia is responsive to diplomacy, yet Washington's reinforcement of Kyiv's "belligerent demeanor" exacerbates conciliatory attempts to end the disagreement, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Monday.

She also informed the US side that the tasks assigned to Ukraine would be accomplished, which the Russian and Turkish leaders are well aware of.

Russia is also ready to settle diplomatically, but specific requirements must be met. Also, it was made clear that Kyiv is too stubborn and will engage in terrorism, creating a peaceful solution to the problem a long shot, noted Reuters.

The G20 in Indonesia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday that Moscow was willing to negotiate with the West on the Ukraine conflict but hadn't yet received any reasonable plan to make a deal.

In an interview conducted on state TV, Lavrov stated that Russia has been open to dialogue with the United States or even with Turkey on directions to stop the conflict, currently in its eighth month.

The senior Russian official laments that White House national security spokesman John Kirby stated that the US is willing to talk, but Russia is the dissenting party. The US relies on invented words, an outright lie, citing Hindustan Times.

Lavrov called Kirby a liar for what he said and reiterated that while Moscow is willing, Washington and its allies have not said anything meaningful.

Furthermore, he stated that a meeting with Biden during the G20 summit in Indonesia scheduled for the middle of November would be a suitable venue. If they ever get a proposal, a discussion with Biden would be beneficial.

He also stated that Russia never refuses meetings and that any proposal is immediately considered; however, no offer comes from Washington.

Giving an opinion on the potential that Turkey might conduct talks with Russia and the West, Lavrov said Moscow would indeed be prepared to listen to any recommendations and could not tell if it would result in good outcomes ahead of time.

He mentioned that Erdogan would be given a chance to make propositions to Putin throughout their trip to Kazakhstan this week.

Frictions between the West and Russia over Russia's seven-month invasion of Ukraine stay high, with Moscow launching missile attacks across Kyiv on Monday in reaction to a Saturday blast that seriously damaged a Russian-built bridge to Crimea.

The Turkish government, which has close ties with both Moscow and Kyiv, has been viewed as a partial moderator within the conflict. In July, it aided in the negotiation of a deal to outsource Ukrainian grain patrols in Black Port facilities.

This month, Kazakhstan's capital will accommodate another conference that Council President Charles Michel will attend. Peskov says the Russian and Turkish leaders are to meet on the sidelines in Kazakhs on strategies to deal with the West.
