A cosplayer-model is a suspect in stabbing her fiancé to death but said it was self-defense as claimed. Police alleged that she was screaming at him before knifing her partner day.

Cosplayer-Model Stabs Fiancé Dead

The accused is an ex-female cosplayer-model, Melissa Turner, 29, based on a recent confession about the slaying of Matthew Trussler, 25. His body was found in a shared residence way back in 2019, according to Meaww.

Sources mentioned the two went shopping on October 17, 2019, and later had lunch in their Tampa, Florida home. A few hours later, Turner reported that he was dead in their residence.

Turner stated calling the police after the victim was found not responding the next day, telling the 911 operator that he was cold and had no life signs. Details of the report say that on the 19th, she saw the victim lying in his blood with apparent knife wounds as the cause of death, but the suspect spoke to police and had no idea how the man died.

It all changed when the detectives got video from a neighbor's CCTV camera that was, by coincidence, pointed at the couple's residence.Knowing the video that captured the altercation, the police asked Turner about it. She denied anything about the loud argument to the police and forgot it as an excuse, but didn't deny it later.

Speaking on the matter, then sheriff's detective Ryan LaGasse remembered that the camera audio captured loud screaming and voice. One comment by the ex-detective is hearing a female voice screaming to die with expletives.

Stabbing Suspect Admits Crime During Trial

When asked about details of how it led to the unfortunate death, she gave her version of the events, justifying the action because of fear that he would kill her.

Trussler narrated that he had woken her up, and they argued over something, alleging that the victim was still drinking at 4 am in the early morning, reports WFLA News.

She added that the argument became a physical struggle as the man tried to strangle her, which led her to get a knife and stab him in alleged self-defense, per The Sun.

While interrogation by the investigators, who had noticed a large cut on her hand, it said Turner was caused by a broken glass earlier in the morning. One scene from the video that captured the argument on those nights had implication footage. The suspect was arrested on October 19, 2019, and booked for second-degree murder using a weapon.

The trial was followed on February 2022 but still kept self-defense as the reason. She maintained her claim that she was trying to stop him and loved him too. She called the CCTV cam of her neighbor as manipulated, as another audio expert said the audio got enhanced.

In the case, Chinwe Fosser, one of the prosecutors, said Trussler was walking with no weapon in the video, but Turner looked very angry walking behind him. A theory of how the cut on Turner's had been sustained when stabbing Trussler, opposed to what she told the police.

The lawyer John Travena doubted his client screeched and said the victim was mumbling. But prosecutors panned the defense claims immediately.
