Actor Sam Worthington was arrested in New York City on Sunday after allegedly punching paparazzi in the face.
According to TMZ, Worthington was provoked after the photographer kicked girlfriend Lara Bingle for an unknown reason. Both the "Avatar" star and paparazzi Sheng Li were arrested by the NYPD.
Worthington was charged with assault and will need to appear in court at a later date, TMZ reports. Li was charged with reckless endangerment, assault and harassment, but is still in custody.
Worthington isn't the only celebrity who has had a physical altercation with the paparazzi. Rapper Kanye West is reportedly facing charges stemming from an incident at LAX airport last September.
"Kanye went off on the photog ... who dared to speak with him as he left the airport. The photog went to the hospital and has filed a lawsuit," TMZ reports. "The photog hired Gloria Allred, who has said the attack left her client badly injured."
"He flunked several field sobriety tests and was then cuffed and taken to jail, where he REFUSED to submit to a blood alcohol test," according to TMZ. "The fact that he refused the blood alcohol test actually helped him ... in that normally a defendant would be charged with 2 counts of DUI -- driving under the influence and driving with .08 or higher."
West also got into a physical altercation on Jan. 13 after an unnamed teen began calling fiancée Kim Kardashian racial slurs. Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, commented about the incident during an interview with Australia's 2DayFM.
"I do know that how it started was that this person got really...a lot of racial, hateful, horrible things that he was saying," Jenner said on air. "And I think that's where it started. I'm not quite sure how it ended...But I think that what happened was that somebody got really out of line. Very hateful person."
West settled the case in civil court and reportedly paid the teen $250,000 in damages.
