A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded after he was stabbed by another teenager in Leeds in the UK's Yorkshire region on Tuesday (November 7).

It was reported that the victim was allegedly collecting a student from nearby St. Margaret's Primary School when he was attacked.

The teenage boy who allegedly stabbed the victim has been arrested by West Yorkshire Police.

It was revealed that the victim was a former student of Horsforth School located near the crime scene.

"Our thoughts and sympathies lie with his family at this time while the student is receiving medical treatment," Horsforth School headteacher Paul Bell told the BBC."We are aware of the distress and upset this has caused students and staff who know the student."

Students Near Crime Scene Kept Inside School

Students of Horsforth School and St. Margaret's Primary School were kept inside school premises at the end of the school day so that they could be collected from the building by their parents.

A Horsforth resident who was picking up her grandchild from the primary school when she saw the police cars and ambulance initially thought the incident was a car crash.

"The school was very good, they messaged us to say they were keeping the children safe inside," the woman added. "I was very sad when I heard what had happened."

Police cordons remained in place as investigations regarding the incident are underway.
