The Prince of Wales was seen by local media at a Hammersmith branch of Tesco, where he swapped Christmas cards and sold magazines with Big Issue vendor Dave Martin, whom the prince met last year on the occasion of his 40th birthday.

William - who has experienced sleeping rough on the streets alongside his younger brother, Prince Harry, as teenagers and young adults - has launched a campaign to tackle the growing problem of homelessness.

As winter settles in the UK, emergency shelters have been opened for rough sleepers, which has significantly risen in the past few years.

William's Post-'Endgame' Engagement

The prince going undercover as a Big Issue seller has been a staple engagement of his since last year.

This time, William was donning the red baseball cap and tabard after a week of headlines about royal rows connected to the publication of Omid Scobie's book "Endgame."

His father, King Charles III, recently appeared on the cover of Big Issue for his 75th birthday last month, as the monarch launched a project to support food banks and reduce food waste.

Big Issue editor Paul McNamee told the BBC that Christmas was a vital time for sellers and royal endorsements from both Charles and William would "help vendors, right at the sharp end."

Meanwhile, William's wife, Princess Catherine, visited the Evelina Children's Hospital to witness the opening of the hospital's Children's Day Surgery Unit
