The new 2024 Apple Watch lineup is rumored to include various features, including a blood pressure monitor, a sleep apnea detector, as well as a new look.

Industry insider Mark Gurman said that at least one Apple Watch model could feature an updated look. While he did not specify any details, it could be the standard Apple Watch Ultra in 2022 that could get the new upgrade.

Apple's new 2024 watch lineup could include a variety of new features, including a blood pressure monitor as well as a sleep apnea detector.

While there are rumors of a larger microLED display for that particular device, current information suggests that the tech giant will not be ready to add microLED until 2025 or 2026. Gurman said in prior reports that Apple is currently working on a significant update for the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch.

The exact year for the Apple Watch's 10th anniversary is a little unclear as the product was first announced in September 2014 but was only launched in April 2015. However, there are rumors of the "Apple Watch Series 10" for next year, which could be considered the "anniversary" model, as per MacRumors.

The brand-new Apple Watch could also include a thinner design as well as a new magnetic mechanism for connecting bands. However, the health features could be more appealing to the tech giant's customers.

Gurman argued that consumers can expect the next-generation version of the Apple Watch to detect hypertension as well as sleep apnea. These are two medical conditions that affect millions of people worldwide.

The product will be able to detect hypertension through blood pressure monitoring that is done on an individual's wrist. In November, Gurman said that the Apple Watch will have the capability of telling its wearer if their blood pressure is trending upward so that they can report the findings to a medical professional.

On the other hand, the rumored new Apple Watch could use sleep measurements and breathing patterns to identify sleep apnea. Gurman said that he anticipates the release of the new product to be around September 2024 and could come alongside the iPhone 16 lineup, according to FoneArena.

A Variety of New Features

The tech giant is also reported to be planning the launch of the fourth-generation AirPods in 2024 which offers an updated design. It also includes a USB-C charging port while the higher-end version will have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

Furthermore, a software update would add hearing aid functionality, which would position AirPods as an over-the-counter hearing aid alternative. Gurman suggested that a new version of the AirPods Max could come next year that would include new colors and a USB-C charging port.

The rumors come as the Apple Watch got a new update on Monday in the form of watchOS 10.2. This particular update includes novel health features that would allow consumers to talk to Siri about their health and fitness routines.

The tech giant explains that the S9 processor that is at the core of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 is capable of processing health-related Siri requests on the device itself. This means that user information will never leave the devices, said BGR.
