In response to President Joe Biden's accusation during the State of the Union that former President Donald Trump bowed down to the Kremlin, Trump called the POTUS a "puppet" for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
"He said I bowed down to the Russian Leader. He gave them everything, including Ukraine. I took away Nord Stream 2, he gave it to them! He was a Puppet for Putin and Xi, and virtually every other Leader!" Trump said in Truth Social.
The former President's reaction quickly garnered reaction despite reported massive Truth Social's outage during Biden's address. Prior to his post, Trump seemed eager to criticize Biden's appearance during the State of the Union on Thursday. Trump's remarks targeted Biden's appearance and conduct, with the businessman labeling Biden as "crazy." "His hair is much better in the front than on the back!" "He looks so angry when he's talking, which is a trait of people who know they are 'losing it.' The anger and shouting is not helpful to bringing our Country back together!" he added. "He is so angry and crazy!" Trump said. Trump also posted googly-eyed pictures of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, sharing gifs of them on his Truth Social account while teasing them. Many posts, though, criticized Biden's policies.
Meanwhile, Biden strongly supported various policies that he and other Democrats have been promoting throughout his time in office, while also criticizing Trump without mentioning him by name. Discussing abortion rights, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, immigration policy, and other hot-button topics, Biden covered a wide range of issues expected to be central in the upcoming November election, where he is likely to face Trump in a rematch of the 2020 election.
