Madison Bergmann, 24, of St. Paul, Minnesota, has been charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child, according to charging documents.

An engaged Wisconsin elementary school teacher who allegedly told her 11-year-old student that he "turns her on," moved his desk next to hers during independent reading time so she could rub his thighs.

Madison Bergmann, 24, has been charged with first-degree child sex assault with a person under the age of 13, according to St. Croix County court records.

It's unclear if she entered a plea to the charge. Her defense attorney Joseph Tamburino did not immediately respond to Headline & Global News' request for comment.

The school district has since placed her on unpaid administrative leave.

Police first launched an investigation into Bergmann – a fifth grade teacher at River Crest Elementary School in Hudson, Wisconsin – last week, when the victim's parents allegedly discovered inappropriate text messages between the pair, HNGN previously reported.

Bergmann allegedly texted the victim she "wanted to just grab your face and push you to the floor and make out with you," according to the criminal complaint, the Pioneer Press reported. In a subsequent text, she allegedly wrote to him, "(I) almost kissed you when you were on the ground today but I got distracted by your stomach."

Handwritten notes to the boy allegedly stated "that she loves him, wants to kiss him, he turns her on, and that she is obsessed with him," according to the complaint.

The boy allegedly told police Bergmann moved his desk next to hers, during which she would touch his hands, shins and thighs and that "he did not believe any of the other kids would see it happening."

He also alleged Bergmann kissed him several times in her classroom.

Bergmann bonded out of jail shortly after her arrest. She is due back in court May 30.
