Legendary 'Star Wars' director George Lucas is ringing in his 80th birthday today with a touching tribute from actor Mark Hamill, famously known as Luke Skywalker.

Lucas, the director of iconic film franchises Star Wars and Indiana Jones, goes down in history as one of the most significant figures in 20th-century Hollywood and one of the most financially successful filmmakers, with four Academy Awards to account for.
In May 2024, Lucas will be bestowed the Honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, considered one of the highest recognitions in the film industry.
