A Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint during President Joe Biden's trip to Los Angeles for a star-studded fundraiser.

Police in the LA suburb of Tustin said the stick-up took place around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in a residential development known as Tustin Field 1.

The agent's bag was stolen and he opened fire during the incident but it's unknown if one or more robbers were shot, the Tustin Police Department said in a statement posted on social media Monday.

"Officers have located some of the victim's belongings in the area and the incident is still being investigated," the statement said.

An SUV believed to be a silver Infiniti FX35 was seen leaving the crime scene, police said.

The Secret Service said the agent was "returning from a work assignment" at the time of the robbery but didn't elaborate.

"We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries," spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a prepared statement.

Biden's campaign said it raised more than $30 million, a new record for the Democratic Party, when appeared Saturday at the Peacock Theater for a discussion with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and former President Barack Obama.

Hollywood A-listers George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Barbra Streisand were among the celebrities who appeared on stage and Jack Black and Sheryl Lee Ralph gave musical performances.
