Former President Donald Trump is looking to seize upon the momentum he has gained from President Biden's previous debate performance by challenging him to another debate so that the oldest President in history may 'prove his competence'.

The 78-year-old former president and likely GOP nominee laid down the challenge on his social media platform, Truth Social, Thursday afternoon.

"I have the answer to the Crooked Joe Biden Incompetence Puzzle - Let's do another Debate, but this time, no holds barred," Trump said in a post. "An all-on discussion, with just the two of us on stage, talking about the future of our Country."

"The ratings were massive for the First Debate, record setting, in fact, but this one, because of the format, would blow everything away!," the reality star-turned politician went on to say in the post.

"It would also, under great pressure, prove his 'competence,' or lack thereof."

"Likewise it would be yet another test for me. What a great evening it would be, just the two of us, one on one, in a good, old fashioned Debate, the way they used to be. ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!!!" he added.

Trump's desire for another debate is hardly surprising considering the groundswell of negative feedback, which included calls to step down from the 2024 election, that answered Biden's performance last month at their debate at CNN Studio in Atlanta,Georgia.

The Tuesday following Biden's debate, a Texas congressman and a representative from Maine became the first elected Democrats to call for President Biden to abandon his reelection bid.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, cited Biden's performance during the presidential debate.

Later the same day, Representative Jared Golden of Maine publicly declared he had no confidence in Biden, also citing the President's 'poor performance' at the debate.

25 House members who are moderates in swing districts have also reportedly lost faith in the president.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stood firm in front of reporters Wednesday, stating that President Biden will "absolutely not" drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

There is a second debate currently scheduled between the two candidates which is set to take place Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time and will be hosted by ABC, according to CBS News.
