Kanye West may have dropped out of college to pursue his dream of becoming a music artist finally got his degree May 11.
Despite quitting school (West briefly studied at Chicago's American Academy of Art and Chicago State University), the Art Insitiute of Chicago awarded West with an honorary doctorate degree.
Although students and alumni clearly expressed that they didn't want West at their commencement ceremony, there were no obvious issues and West sounded humble in his speech.
His wife, Kim Kardashian, was happy to support him and made an Instagram announcement using his new name "Dr. Kanye West."
West gave an expansive speech at the commencement ceremony that covered various topics including his nerves, George W. Bush\'s self-portraits and his TIME 100 cover.
