Growing Kansas Sinkhole Becomes Popular Tourist Attraction (WATCH)

A growing Kansas sinkhole 200ft across and 90ft deep that swallowed a pasture has now become a popular tourist attraction, though officials have warned people to stay away.

Last week something unexplainable and astonishing took place in Wallace County, a small Kansas town. Townspeople were baffled by a massive sinkhole in the middle of resident Dalton Hoss' pasture. As the sinkhole continues to grow, swallowing the entire pasture, people have begun flocking to the site to get a glimpse of it.

The local sheriff has issued a warning asking people to stay away from the sinkhole as it may be dangerous, though no causalities have been reported yet. According to an Examiner report, the owner of the land is also doing his best to keep people away to avoid any calamities.

The 200ft wide and 90ft deep sinkhole is even deeper in reality than it looks in its pictures, report the locals. Hence, it has become a popular attraction for both tourists and locals.

"I'd seen pictures and I knew it was deep, but I didn't think it was this deep. You get out here and you get a whole different perspective on how deep it is," a local resident, Gavin Mote, told The Inquisitr.

Experts are yet to examine the site and no explanation for the occurrence has been provided yet. What's even more surprising is that there are no irrigation pipes or anything under the land that might have caused the sink.

This is not the first time an unexplained sinkhole has developed. Earlier in May, a sinkhole in New Jersey developed in a warehouse, consuming a man and his forklift entirely. Fortunately, the man was rescued and taken to a local hospital and was treated for a back injury, the Huffington Post reported.

A similar incident took place in March in Florida. However, the man was not lucky to survive the incident. He was sleeping in his bedroom when a sinkhole basically swallowed his whole room. According to a CNN report, the sinkhole was about 20 ft to 30 ft across and about 30 ft deep.
