Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino didn't take too kindly to beatdown machine Ronda Rousey's recent decision to make pointed comments about Justino's alleged - and priorly confirmed - use of steroids. Justino, who tested positive for Stanozolol, an anabolic steroid, after a 2011 Strikforce matchup, responded to Rousey's comments before and after her absolute pummeling of Bethe Correia at UFC 190 with the threat of litigation.
Here is just one example of Rousey's comments regarding "Cyborg," the woman widely viewed as the only legitimate threat to end Rousey's recent run of dominance...
"If [Justino] can make 145 [pounds] all pumped full of steroids, you can get off the juice and fight in the division everybody else is in. I don't see why I should be under pressure to prove something against her when she's the one that has to prove something. She's the one that has to prove that she's not a fraud," Rousey said prior to the bout with Correia, via Yahoo Sports.
Here is Justino's response, via Twitter...
Of course, considering Justino has tested positive for steroids in the past, what Rousey has said isn't slander. Defamatory? Maybe. But slander, no.
Justino was stripped of her Strikeforce championship after the positive test and didn't fight again for a year and a half, joining Invicta FC after her return. At the same time as Justino was facing this scandal, Rousey was making her UFC debut, en route to becoming the best female fighter in the world. Rousey's last four fights have now lasted a combined 130 seconds.
While talk of a Justino-Rousey match has been discussed ad nauseum over the last few years and will likely continue to swirl, with Justino clearly onboard, UFC president Dana White's recent comments regarding a potential fight between Rousey and Miesha Tate may mean Justino and fights won't be getting their wish anytime soon.
