Although delighted with the recently released Madden NFL 16, gamers were surprised to find that the game appears to be haunted. The glitch featured a "ghost" cornerback that suited up for the Detroit Lions.

The bug features an invisible player nabbing a pass out of the air, and then returning it for a touchdown, pursued by the opposing team. There is a stamina indicator and the ball is as animated as if a running player is swinging it vigorously in his arms. But no one is on screen.

The "ghosts" are clearly glitches that usually come with new game releases. It could be a skinning error, according to Bleacher Report. Electronic Arts, the game's publisher, has announced that it is already working on a patch to fix the reported problems. This was confirmed by Rex Dickson, Creative Director at EA Sports, in a tweet.

In addition to the invisible players, the patch would supposedly address several other issues, including random encroachment calls while just coming out of the huddle, severe ratings regression in Franchise Mode, absurd ratings boost during Franchise games, broken SuperSim that gives QBs a number of carries that rivals starting running backs, custom playbooks error, and draft classes that come in too high in certain attribute categories, according to Pasta Padre.

Despite the bugs, Madden NFL 16 has been positively received both by gamers and critics alike. While it does not add any major features, "it tweaks and tightens up the gameplay, adding new kinds of styles of play in an attempt to add more layers to matches," The Independent observed.
