The Los Angeles Dodgers promoted the MLB's top prospect, Corey Seager, on Thursday and he had an impressive debut against the San Diego Padres. Meanwhile, in Washington, Nationals' outfielder Bryce Harper did not record an official at-bat last night.

Seager started at shortstop and batted eighth for the Dodgers in his MLB debut. The 21-year-old went 2-for-4 (a single and a double) with two runs scored and two RBIs. Seager's two-run single in the top of the sixth gave Los Angeles a 5-4 lead, but the Dodgers' bullpen couldn't preserve the lead.

The Padres won 10-7 after scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth.

The Dodgers didn't immediately promote Seager when the MLB rosters expanded earlier this week, but injuries to Kike Hernandez and Jose Peraza opened up a spot for him. Check out his memorable night below:

Before the promotion, Seager was batting .276/.331/.450 with 63 runs scored, 13 home runs and 59 RBIs in 104 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Seager and Nationals' outfielder Bryce Harper are only a year apart in age, but Harper is one of the best in the MLB right now. The NL MVP candidate is batting .331/.460/.627 with 92 runs scored, 31 home runs and 78 RBIs in 125 games this season and further bolstered his on-base percentage last night.

Harper, 22, went 0-0 in last night's 15-1 win over the Atlanta Braves. He walked four times, recorded an RBI and scored four runs. Harper saw 20 pitches in his four at-bats and didn't swing at a single one.

He also walked four times and scored four runs earlier this season against the Colorado Rockies, and according to ESPN Stats and Info, he's the first place to do that twice in the same season since New York Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio in 1950.

Check out all four of his walks and runs scored below:

Harper leads the NL in batting average (.331) and is tops in the MLB in on-base percentage (.464), slugging percentage (.627) and OPS (1.090).
