Liverpool legend and current LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard is rumored to be headed back to England in January, according to The Telegraph.

The move would see Gerrard return to his former club where he wrote his name into English soccer history forever. Liverpool is in need of a Gerrard-type player after struggling to start off the Premier League season.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber does not believe the move will actually happen for Gerrard, according to Bleacher Report.

"I don't believe we are going to see many more off-season loans happening in our league particularly at what I would call the high-level designated players," stated Garber.

The idea of Gerrard going back to the Premier League is outlandish and something that will likely fall through. It is not uncommon for high-profile players to go on loan to Premier League clubs during the offseason. Robbie Keane, Landon Donovan and Theirry Henry all spent time in England after their club's finished play in MLS for the season.

Gerrard and his family seem incredibly happy in Los Angeles, and a move at this point in his career is highly unlikely and would not benefit either party involved.
