Google has revamped its official logo on the search site adapting a flat aesthetic design and also updated the Google Bar, which includes a new app launcher at the top of the screen.
Yahoo isn't the only company that has made some big changes to its search site recently, Google has joined the chase. Google is always ahead in adapting necessary changes to attract users and has proved it yet again by making subtle changes to its vast search engine.
The new webpage displays an overhauled official logo for the web giant, which is completely flat. It looks like flat logo design are the new trend after iOS7 was launched Wednesday, and many app developers including Pandora, Gmail and Kindle made their apps replicating the new Apple's operating system.
But it seems Google was testing its new design since early 2013 and was expected to launch an experimental interface in February, according to the unofficial Google-watching blog, Google Operating System.
"As part of this design, we've also refined the color palette and letter shapes of the Google logo," the company said in an official blog post. "We'll be rolling out this update across most Google products over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out and let us know your thoughts."
This latest redesign comes after 2010, when the web giant brightened the colors and the shading was partially removed. In the new logo, the colors have been subdued and the font is flat.
In addition to the revamped logo, the major change is in navigation bar. Yes, the black bar is gone. The new Google Bar will include an app launcher, much like Microsoft's app launcher that sits on the taskbar. The Google app launcher features top Google services including Google+, Web Search, YouTube, Maps, Play, News, Gmail, Drive, Calendar. On clicking "more" at the end of the launcher's drop down menu, further services will be displayed such as Translate, Books, Offers, Wallet, Shopping, Blogger, Finance and Google+ Photos. The app launcher displays thumbnails for the services with their names below, instead of just links on the old black bar.
To add more soup to it, YouTube will also have a Google navigation menu.
The update is being rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
