The standoff has been reported to have ended with the carjacker safely placed in police custody after being neutralized with tear gas. The suspect's name has not been disclosed by the authorities as of writing, according to 11 Alive News.
The standoff started when the police were tipped off about a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle, believed to be a stolen pickup truck from Cobb county, was found outside the suspect's home, which lies near Jerome Road and Old Bill Cook Road.
After being alerted of the police presence, the suspect barricaded himself in the house, forcing the police to initiate the use of tear gas to subdue the alleged carjacker. It was not known if the suspect was armed during the standoff.
No injuries have been reported during the apprehension of the suspect.

CBS46 provided more details on the incident, stating that the standoff was between a SWAT unit and a suspected carjacker on Jerome Road, College Park, Ga.
