Mississippi State heads to College Station on Saturday night to take on undefeated Texas A&M in an SEC showdown. The Bulldogs are 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the SEC while the Aggies are 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the SEC. Texas A&M comes in ranked 14th in the nation while Mississippi State is ranked 21st.

Mississippi State actually fell out of the rankings after a hard fought home loss to LSU a couple of weeks ago but after winning last week at Auburn they are right back in the rankings and look to carry their momentum in another difficult road game.

The Bulldogs have one of the best players in the nation in Dak Prescott who is having another very good season yet their offense has yet to click. Prescott has thrown for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns without an inteception and has added two rushing touchdowns but the Bulldogs have averaged just 18 points in their two SEC games this season.

The diminutive Brandon Holloway leads the Bulldogs in rushing through four games but has only gotten 18 carries so far. On those 18 carries Holloway is averaging more than seven yards per so they will likely have to get more touches for him.

With no go to receiver or running game to write home about this game might fall on Prescott's shoulders as he is going to have to keep up with one of the best offenses in the nation. The Aggies are averaging more than 40 points per game and have averaged more than 40 in their last three tilts against Mississippi State.

The Aggies offense starts with quarterback Kyle Allen who is second in the SEC in passer rating and first in touchdowns with eleven. The sophomore threw for a career high 358 yards in last weeks win against Arkansas so it will be a tough task for the Bulldogs defense.

Allen's go to receiver is freshman Christian Kirk who has 24 catches for an SEC leading 442 yards and has added four touchdowns. Kirk isn't just a receiver though as he has also starred on special teams returning punts and kicks and has even returned a punt for a touchdown this season.

A player to watch for Texas A&M is defensive lineman Myles Garrett who last year set the SEC freshman record for sacks with 11.5. So far this seaosn Garrett has 6.5 sacks which is good for the second most in the nation and the Aggies as a team have 17 sacks which is also good for second most in the nation.

Garrett sacked Prescott once last year when these two teams faced off but Mississippi State had the last laugh as they won 48-31 in Starkville. The last time these two teams met in College Station it was A&M winning 51-41 in 2013.

The SEC West is one of the most competitive divisions in college football so every game is huge and thats no different in this one. The Bulldogs can't afford to fall too far behind this early in the season and the Aggies want to stay up there with Ole Miss and LSU so this game should be a dandy.
