The Carolina Panthers were woken up early Sunday morning in Seattle when the fire alarm went off at the team hotel, according Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

The fire alarm was reportedly pulled at 5:40 a.m. and was only on the Panthers hotel floors, according to ESPN's Britt McHenry. The Panthers are coming in undefeated, and this may only fire them up for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks are known for their 12th man fans, but this seems to be going over the edge. Seattle is 2-3 coming into today's matchup, and they are desperate for a win to keep pace with the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West.

The Panthers can take a controlling lead in the NFC South, as the Falcons lost their first game Thursday night. Carolina will look to quarterback Cam Newton to set the pace on Sunday, as he has been key in the Panthers starting 4-0. Newton has thrown for 809 yards with seven touchdowns and has also rushed for 195 yards with two touchdowns this season.

This looks to be a defensive matchup on Sunday, but quarterback play from either Russell Wilson or Cam Newton could be the deciding factor. It will be interesting to see if there is any negative affect on the Panthers players, or if the fire alarm this morning will only fuel them to get a win.
