The New York Giants will reportedly take another look at defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul's injured hand Tuesday, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Pierre-Paul has been out of football since almost blowing his hand off in a fireworks accident back in July. Team doctors first examined the Giants pass rusher back on Sept. 7, but the team will reportedly take another look at his hand and will determine if he can play this season.

In the past few weeks, Pierre-Paul has continually put out information that he is ready to return to the field. He posted videos of himself working out and even tweeted, "I can't think of the last time my index finger got me a sack."

The Giants have only recorded seven sacks this season, and the return of Pierre-Paul could give New York a better pass rush. It's unknown if Pierre-Paul will be the same player he was before the injury, but the Giants could surely use help pressuring opposing quarterbacks.

Pierre-Paul reportedly asked the team to have Nike make him a specific glove for his injured hand, but the Giants have reportedly declined that request since he is currently not under contract, according to Vacchiano.

Pierre-Paul has 42 career sacks and had 12.5 sacks for the Giants last season. It will be interesting to see what the Giants do with their star pass rusher, but until he shows he can still shed blockers, everyone will still be wondering if he is still the same player.
