Samsung is launching its curved display phone sometime in October, reveals a recent post on a Korean website.

Samsung has not come up with any official release date for the device as of now but the Korean tech website revealed that the company is gearing to release the curved display smatphone in Korea, reports phonearena.

The device will carry features similar to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The curved display also called Galaxy Round will come with a plastic panel. Samsung had shown off a prototype of the curved display device at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2011 but did not offer much detail on the device.

Galaxy Round will be the first to feature a plastic panel instead of the usual glass material on other smartphones. This will make the device both long lasting and cost effective. However, price of the product will be determined according to the features available on the phone.

The leaked specs for the device suggest a 4.7-inches display with a resolution output of 720 x 1280 pixels. In terms of hardware the device is likely to include a quad-core processor accompanied by 2GB of RAM. The device will boast an 8MP rear camera and is expected to run on Android 4.3, reads a recent post on Gsmarena. However, there is no word on whether the device will include S-pen functionality.

Apple is reportedly also working on a curved displayed wearable tech and LG too is planning to launch its curved display device in November.
