In the coming months gamers may get to play Xbox One titles on PCs, revealed Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios. Both PC and Xbox one being part of the same eco system, having cross platform features 'makes sense', claimed Phil in an interview.

The Microsoft corporate hinted about future compatibility between Xbox One and PCs in a recent interview to Ausgamer. "I'm not allowed to leak things. But I think what you're talking about makes a lot of sense," said Spencer in a statement.

In 2007, Microsoft tried out testing compatibility between Xbox 360 and PC with the first person shooter game, Shadow Run. The venture did not meet with great success but was more of a learning experience for Microsoft to dig out features that the gamers would like to see in the future in cross platform games. "In fact if you go back to Shadow Run on Xbox 360 - something I worked on - we had PC players playing against Xbox 360 customers. We didn't have tremendous success with that, but we learnt a lot from it," Spencer said in the interview.

The Redmond-based tech giant carried out similar efforts with games like Skulls of the Shogun, Halo: Spartan Assault. The games were made available across all the Microsoft platforms- Xbox Live, PC, Windows phone and Windows 8. According to Spencer, as Xbox One and PC belong to the same eco- system, to have cross platform playing is something the developers will aim for in the future and the systems can be easily upgraded with Xbox Live.

"This connected ecosystem across all the different devices is definitely where I think the future of gaming is going. You don't have to do it as a developer, but you have the capability and I think a system like Xbox Live across all those screens where you know who someone is and who their friends are, what their Achievements are and their progression is really critical to that, " Spencer added.

On the other hand, buyers who have not pre-ordered Xbox One earlier can order them now on Best Buy. The U.S. based retailer confirmed Monday it has a few consoles left with them after Microsoft stated that it had ran out of stocks with the overwhelming orders from the buyers, reports CNet.
