NCIS Season 11 Spoilers: It Will Take Some Time For Tony To Return to Form; Glassberg Speaks on Post-Ziva DiNozzo

In Tuesday’s episode of NCIS, it seemed things were getting much worse for Tony. He wasn’t sleeping and he believed he was hallucinating. He was also feeling guilt over a previous case he worked on as a cop in Baltimore.

However, as his talk with Gibbs near the end of the episode confirmed, Tony is still shaken up by Ziva’s decision to stay away.

In a recent interview with TVLine.com, show boss and executive producer Gary Glassberg, reiterated that a quick fix is not in Tony’s future.

“I’m curious to see what’s next for him in his personal life, but we’re not going to rush into anything,” he told the website. “Much like a real relationship, it takes time to recover and to figure out what’s next, and the one thing we’re really trying to do is approach this from the standpoint of as if it’s real.

“You have to give people time to ‘mourn’ and deal with their feelings, and then re-embrace why they watch ‘NCIS’,” he added.

Glasberg offered similar sentiments earlier this month in an interview with TVGuide.com. The EP explained Tony would not be jumping back into the dating world anytime soon.

“Is there anything that's going to happen in the immediate future? Absolutely not,” Glasberg said in response to a question from TVGuide.com’s Adam Bryant about Tony re entering the dating world. “Tony just went through a lot, and has a lot to think about, and then we'll be getting right back to work.”

Tony is a great character and it’s hard to see him going through this tough time. However, it appears we’ll just have to wait to see him fully return to form.

“NCIS” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
