An inmate from Florida detained in a facility for those with mental and physical disabilities was killed by prison guards when the autopsy findings revealed the cause of death.

The death came about when the man was detained by six prison guards, wherein the victim was violently restrained, resulting in strangulation.

Inmate Cause of Death Revealed

Based on the results from an autopsy on the passing of Kevin Desir, 43, attempts to control him led to a violent confrontation, reported Express UK.

Also, the prison medical examiner who did the autopsy disclosed what happened. But what the prison conduct examination accord to an outlet was not accurate when as stated in a private autopsy, the death was violent; the North Broward Bureau facility withheld this fact.

The Broward County sheriff's office (BSO) manages the jail in South Florida; the operator detains all convicted prisoners with mental and physical challenges.

The deceased was apprehended on January 13, 2021, in possession of marijuana, but he was unconscious when he got into physical fisticuffs with officers employed by the facility, noted the Sun Sentinel.

On January 17, 2021, it seemed Desir was physically battered after being excessively beaten, tasered, and even using pepper spray on the man trying to control him, noted Knews Media.

The harm done to the inmate was in an attempt to keep him restrained to a chair by prison guards, where he lost consciousness due to the harsh beating.

Details released disclosed what the jail workers did to him; one of the prison deputies had interlocked his hands to place pressure on the man's neck from the rear. Using body weight to slam Desir back into the chair was remarked in a memo from the Broward County state attorney's office.

About ten days later, Desir passed away in the hospital, as mentioned by the Broward county medical examiner's office the next day, but the report omitted Desir's actual cause of death. But the state attorney has declared it was not charging any of the six officers involved in the death, calling the man's death justifiable.

Hearing of Desir's passing led his family to ask a question about the circumstance of their relative's demise. The family chose to conduct another autopsy at their request, which led to a shocking revelation in lieu of the coroner's official report.

A more thorough check on the circumstances of the man's alleged death had surprising details revealed not included in the first. Death came from manual strangulation from intense pressure on the neck by careless officers.

According to the family's counsel, Jeremy McLymont, two medical examiners could remarkably distinguish two very different causes of death.

Another is after the death of Desir in 2021, another examination of the deceased was done in only 21 months to conduct an autopsy privately. Even the Broward County sheriff's office oddly kept access to the dead medical records.

The lawyer added something unusual about Desir's circumstances, including a video record of that day. Jails under the Broward Sheriff's Office are checked for irregularities.
