Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has slammed the constant bombing of Kherson, which has destroyed a hospital and many homes.
"Today, the Russian army has been shelling Kherson atrociously all day," Zelensky said, per The Independent.
Zelensky noted in his evening speech that "a hospital, post office, and bus station" were among the many social and transportation services that had been destroyed along with residential structures in the latest Moscow shelling in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Two female nurses were hurt while working at the medical facility. Six people have been hurt, and three have died, according to news sources.
Oleh Synehubov, governor of the area where Kharkiv is located, claimed an elderly woman was killed when a missile hit her apartment building.
Zelensky went on to say that the Ukrainian forces faced a difficult situation in Bakhmut, Vuhledar, and other places in the Donetsk region and that they needed new weapons and faster delivery of weapons.
A fresh attack in the Russia-Ukraine war is a possibility as Ukraine recovers from a harsh winter.
Putin Expresses Willingness To Discuss With Scholz
On Monday, the British Ministry of Defense pointed out that, despite rumors to the contrary, the Kremlin never officially reversed its decision for partial activation of reservists that increased force numbers for the battle in Ukraine in September, AP News reported.
A spokesman for the Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to talk to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz over the phone, but there is no set time for this to happen right now, according to Al Jazeera.
Scholz, who last week authorized sending Leopard 2 combat tanks to Ukraine, was cited as stating in an interview that he would talk to Putin again, but that it was Putin's responsibility to remove soldiers from Ukraine to stop the "senseless" conflict.
