After its armored vehicles were ambushed in Vuhledar, video footage indicates Russia sustained catastrophic military losses.

In a humiliating defeat for Vladimir Putin's army, dozens of tanks were lost and damaged, and many soldiers were killed.

Destroyed Russian Tanks

The aerial film shows Russian troops escaping a heavy assault by Ukrainian aircraft. In the mayhem, Russian tanks slaughtered their soldiers. According to a Russian assessment, Vladimir Putin's forces lost 31 armored vehicles at Vuhledar, or Ugledar, as it is known in Russia.

Russian war channels criticized their side for beginning the Kremlin's fresh attack with military ineptitude amidst a flurry of accusations for abandoning the column as "sitting ducks." Putin's forces were certainly killed and injured here, although exact numbers are not yet available, Daily Mail reported.

According to reports, the Ukrainians seized further individuals. The Moscow Calling military station said that 31 armored vehicles of the 155th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet were destroyed during an attack on Vuhledar.

Alexander Sladkov, a journalist for official television's combat coverage, condemned "criminal leaders" on the Russian side. People are unskilled and unprepared for military action. The commanders displayed "total ineptitude."

When the fighting group was under enemy fire and did not get any help or cover during the engagement, there was a lack of effective cooperation between the branches of the armed forces.

Putin's mobilization of "low-quality and unprepared" reserves as "independent fighting formations" led to this setback. According to the report, military prosecutors should probe the involvement of commanders.

Previously, the British Ministry of Defense had stated, "Russian forces presumably retreated and abandoned at least 30 mainly undamaged armored vehicles in a single event following a failed attack."

Critics demanded that the controversial East group commander, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, accept responsibility for the killings. Muradov is a close associate of General Valery Gerasimov, the overall commander of the conflict.

According to a Moscow military station, the 31 lost vehicles belonged to the 155th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet. Alexander Sladkov, a combat journalist for official television, went on to condemn "criminal leaders" on the Russian side.

Per The Sun, Muradov is a close associate of General Valery Gerasimov, the overall commander of the conflict. Even pro-war outlets that often promote dictator Putin's aggression criticized the "total ineptitude" displayed. In preparation for a brutal spring onslaught against entrenched and resolute Ukrainian defenses, Putin is increasing army mobilization.

Russia's Losses During Ukraine War

According to an updated figure given by the General Staff on Monday, Russia lost three tanks in the previous twenty-four hours.

According to Kyiv's calculation, this raises the total number of Russian tanks lost since the commencement of the full-scale assault on February 24, 2022, to 3,283. Sunday, Ukraine claimed that Russia had lost thirteen tanks on the preceding day.

As of Monday, the Dutch open-source intelligence site Oryx has reported the loss of 1,727 Russian tanks, but this has yet to be corroborated. However, only units for which photographic or video graphics proof exists are included in the count, as per Newsweek via MSN.

During the ongoing Ukraine conflict, the Ukrainian and Russian militaries have used UAVs or drones. Kyiv's military has utilized drones, including the Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 and commercial drones, but Russia's most well-known drones employed in the conflict were the Iranian-made Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 UAVs.

Shahed drones, also known as "kamikaze" drones Geran-2, can carry warheads that detonate or shatter when the UAVs approach their target. Slow-moving UAVs are distinguished by the faint buzzing sound they generate upon approach.

The Ukrainian General Staff said on Saturday that between 6 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. local time on Friday, twenty Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 drones were destroyed by Ukrainian troops. Sunday, Ukraine's Air Force Command said that between 6:40 and 9:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, four Shahed drones and one Orlan-10 had been shot down.

The weekend saw the greatest daily mortality rate for Russian soldiers since the beginning of the full-scale assault, according to Ukraine's military forces. The Ukrainian General Staff said Russia had lost 1,140 men the previous day. This surpassed the previous record of 1,030 soldiers, established on February 7.

Kyiv estimates that Russia has lost 138,340 soldiers since February 2022, an increase of 560 soldiers just Sunday. This number cannot be independently confirmed, and the number reported by Kyiv is typically greater than estimates from the West.

Since September 2022, Moscow has not disclosed numbers on losses inflicted by the Russian military in Ukraine. On Sunday, the UK Ministry of Defense stated that an "increase in Russian deaths" is likely due to a "lack of skilled troops, coordination, and resources throughout the front."
