Huge Immigrant Contributions to US Revealed in American Immigration Council's 2023 Map

Immigrants in the U.S. have huge contributions to the American economy. This was revealed by the new 2023 Map of the American Immigration Council.

The non-profit organization, which focuses on assisting immigrants in the United States, published the new interactive map that Americans can freely use.

Aside from their contributions, the American Immigration Council's 2023 Map also shows other details about immigrants that U.S. residents should know about.

American Immigration Council Map 2023: Immigrants' Contributions to the US

According to Forbes' latest report, the new American Immigration Council (AIC) 2023 Map showcases the contributions that immigrants in the U.S. made.

The interactive map provides details about them in all 50 U.S. states, as well as different industry sectors. Here are some of the key findings that the AIC 2023 Map revealed:

Around 22% of American entrepreneurs are immigrants.
One in eight U.S. residents is an immigrant.
Over $500 billion in taxes have been paid by immigrants in 2021.
More than 13% of U.S. residents are immigrants.

These main findings clearly show that immigrants are greatly contributing to the United States despite facing criticism from some Americans.

"Immigrants support the U.S. economy in many ways, accounting for 22.2 percent of entrepreneurs, 22.8 percent of STEM workers, and 15.2 percent of nurses," said the American Immigration Council via its official website.

"As workers, business owners, taxpayers, and neighbors, immigrants are an integral part of the country's diverse and thriving communities and make extensive contributions that benefit all," AIC added.

Other Details Revealed by AIC 2023 Map

Based on the 2023 Map of AIC, there are over 45 billion immigrants in the United States; this is based on the 2021 data that the council analyzed.

The immigrant spending power in 2021 is estimated to be more than $1 trillion. But, immigrants are not only greatly contributing to the U.S. economy as consumers.

The American Immigration Commission explained that immigrants in the U.S. are more likely to be working-age compared to their U.S.-born counterparts.

This means that immigrants are more active in the labor force compared to Americans, making them a greater contributor to the economy when it comes to labor.
