Two people were arrested in Louisiana on Tuesday after they were allegedly captured on video dumping two puppies in a dumpster outside a seafood market on Sunday, authorities said.

On Monday, St. Landry Parish Animal Control asked for the public's help identifying two individuals seen in security video captured at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday outside Sebastian Westend Seafood, located on the corner of Highway 190 East and Lofton Street in Opelousas.

In the video, a woman can be seen carrying one puppy toward a dumpster as a second puppy walks along behind her. She throws the first puppy into the dumpster, then picks up the second puppy and tosses it in as well. She was accompanied by a man.

On Tuesday, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office reported two Opelousas residents had been arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Jasmine Mouton, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. Her alleged companion, 22-year-old Kendel Tyler, was also arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
