Skype rolled out an update for its Xbox One app bringing new features to improve the overall experience of the app across all devices and fixing some long-overdue performance issues.

Skype is now bringing an overhauled update to Xbox One users of the app. The video-calling service added new features and fixed some of the most pressing problems raided by the users since its launch in November. The Skype update includes improved chats with advanced sync options for conversations carried out across different platforms. So if users are using Skype on a PC, smartphone, tablet or Xbox One, the conversations will be synced equally without any missed messages.

In addition to synchronized chats, Skype is also adding push notifications to alert users when a new message arrives and extending the chat history to up to 1,000 messages, which was previously limited to only last 7 days. To make chats even more eventful, Skype is also bringing new emoticons based on the characters from Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, perfect for gamers to chat in a new style.

Another important feature in the update includes contact filtering. This feature will display online contacts on the top of the list, making it easier for users to chat with friends without having to scroll through the entire list, Karen Tong, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Skype, wrote in an online post in the company's Garage & Updates, Friday.

Skype also addressed some of the major issues faced by its users of Xbox One app since the launch in November. "In the past few months, we've been listening to your feedback and working hard to fix some of the issues our users have been experiencing," Tong wrote. "So keep telling us what you're finding, and we'll keep improving the experience to make Skype for Xbox One the best it can be."
