Mobile-payment service Square, Inc. released a new feature Tuesday called Square Feedback, which lets customers offer comments on their shopping experience through a digital receipt.

Business owners will be able to ask customers about their experience on this voucher, according to Tech Crunch.

Consumers get the option to provide feedback after they swipe a credit card on the seler's Square card reader, USA Today reported.

The San Francisco-based company reportedly delivers more than 10 million digital receipts per month through emails and texts, according to KC Simon, spokesperson for Square.

Simon said that when the digital receipts were tested, merchants told the company "how valuable it can be to have that channel, sort of a conversation with a customer about their experience, as opposed to just reading about a customer's experience after the fact on Yelp or social media."

Customers who get their receipts through emails or texts will receive the question "How was your experience?" and can press a button to answer. They can then provide business owners with details about their time spent shopping. When a customer offers feedback, the seller will receive an email alert. Through the Square Dashboard, sellers will be able to ask further questions or offer their help, Tech Crunch reported.

Square announced Koshland Pharm: Custom Compounding Pharmacy, which is based in San Francisco, as the sole launch partner for the feature.

Square Feedback is available to sellers for $10 per month, USA Today reported. The company is also offering sellers a 30-trial with the new service. The feature is now available and is combined with Square's sales software suite.

"The receipt should be more than just a list of what a customer bought," said Gokul Rajaram, seller product lead for Square. "Digital receipts are a natural platform for communication. We're designing them to add value to the customer experience and extend the interaction between the buyer and the seller."
