Uruguay's 1-0 win on Tuesday against Italy wasn't without controversy: Uruguay star Luis Suarez appeared to bite another player. Although no referee showed a card for what looked like Suarez biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, Suarez could face a ban if FIFA investigates and finds him culpable.

The incident occurred in the 80th minute of the group stage match when the two were jockeying for position on the pitch. Suarez's mouth appeared to connect with Chiellini's shoulder, and both men eventually toppled onto the ground. The referees declined to show a card despite Chiellini's protests and his pulling down the top of his shirt to show what looked like a wound while Suarez held his teeth.
