Baltimore Ravens cornerback Aaron Ross reportedly will miss the entire 2014 NFL season after tearing his Achilles tendon Thursday at training camp. It's uncertain whether Baltimore will fall back on their depth in the secondary or pursue a free agent or a trade to fill the void left by Ross being sidelined.

"John Harbaugh says CB Aaron Ross tore his Achilles during conditioning," FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo tweeted Thursday morning. "He will be lost for the season."

Ross, who signed with Baltimore last month, was limited to just four games last season with the New York Giants after suffering a season-ending back injury.

The 31-year-old veteran was expected to compete for Baltimore's nickel corner position, according to Sports Illustrated.

Baltimore isn't short on defensive backs and will likely look in-house to fill the void left by Ross. Cornerbacks Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith are expected to be the two starting corners, and the loss of Ross will likely give players - such as rookies Tramain Jacobs and Sammy Seamster - a chance to compete for playing time.

The Ravens also received bad news on offense Thursday, when the NFL announced the two-game suspension of beleaguered running back Ray Rice.
