Fans are loving Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World."

The reboot comedy show has been renewed for a second season, Entertainment Weekly reported. The series, starring Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, premiered in June to 5.2 million viewers. The show is also number one in youth demographics.

"The series swiftly became a favorite of kids and their parents, many of whom grew up with 'Boy Meets World,'" Adam Bonnett, Disney's Executive Vice President of Original Programming, said in a statement. "We're looking forward to watching Riley Matthews and Maya Hart make the world their own, as Cory and Topanga teach them life lessons along the way."

"Girl Meets World" is a spinoff of the popular '90s sitcom "Boy Meets World." The show followed characters Cory, Topanga, and their friends and family as they grew up together.

"Fourteen years later, I don't think it was hard getting back into it, but I think it was a bit of an interesting process to find out who Cory is now," Savage told TVGuide.com. "He's still funny, corky and sweet. I think the only thing that has change is he's a little bit more serious now. He is really forced on being a good dad and setting a good example for his kids."

Fans of the original series will be treated to Boy Meets World reunion in the series' upcoming holiday episode, "Girl Meets Home for the Holidays". Returning are actors Betsey Randle and William Russ as Amy and Allen Matthews, Lee Norris as Minkus and actor Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter.

Season one of the show included a special appearances including Mr. Feeney, played by William Daniels. Production for season two is expected to being in November and will premiere next year.

"Girl Meets World" airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m.
