Dodge is expanding its performance car lineup with the all-new 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat, complete with a V8 engine capable of 707 horsepower and a top speed of 204mph.

Dodge, Chrysler's renowned performance brand, has finally offered a first look at its much-teased 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. The new muscle car was unveiled Wednesday at the Vinsetta Garage in Berkley ahead of the annual Woodward Dream Cruise event, which kicks off Saturday, the Detroit Free Press reported. The new Hellcat Charger marks Dodge's 100 years in service, celebrated this year.

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat sports a 6.2 liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine, throttling 707 horsepower down the pipes and 650 pound-feet of torque. This supercharged machine has the title of being the world's quickest, fastest and most powerful production sedan in the world. With so much power stored under the hood, the new Charger SRT Hellcat can whiz from 0 to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds. Covering a quarter mile in just 11 seconds, the Charger SRT Hellcat has a top speed of 204mph (328.3kmh), car enthusiast magazine Jalopnik reported Wednesday.

"For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger's successful formula has been its many personalities. It's a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car," The News Wheel quoted Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT Brands, as saying. "And now, with a NHRA-certified quarter mile time of 11.0 seconds and a 204 mph top speed, the new 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat redefines itself again, as the quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan in the world!"

What's Under The Hood

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat's HEMI Hellcat V8 engine is mated to a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. The four door sedan, described by Dodge as "sinister," features a new supercharger made with a forged steel crankshaft and induction-hardened bearing surfaces to achieve top speeds, the car maker explained on its official website.

The Charger SRT Hellcat, like the Challenger SRT Hellcat, features two key fobs, red and black. The black key fob is suggested for everyday driving while the red one unleashes the full potential of the Charger. Owners can also use the "Valet" mode for enforcing limitations on what features remain accessible. The muscle car also features different driving modes, like Default, Sport, Track, Eco and Custom for a unique experience.

The Interior and the Exterior Design

The all-new Charger SRT Hellcat exterior design is inspired by its predecessors with a four-door model, front fascia, hood, rear fascia and a spoiler. The bonnet sports a cold-air intake and dual air extractors. The tires are wrapped around lightweight 20x9.5-inch forged aluminum alloys. The rear side of the car features running tail LED with the company's brand name at the center.

On the inside, the Charger SRT Hellcat features premium quality heating and ventilating high-performance seats, 8.4-inch Unconnect touch screen and a 900 watt, 18-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.

Availability

The car maker is yet to reveal the fuel economy details of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, which will be on display at 13 mile and Woodward this weekend along with the company's 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. The company will announce the pricing details at a later date and production of the new car is expected to kick off during the start of 2015.
