The road to recovery just got significantly more difficult for Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Hall, who tore his Achilles tendon last month, tore it again this week and will be forced to undergo the corrective surgery for a second time, ESPN reports.

While Hall, 30, is still expected to be ready for training camp next summer, this second injury and subsequent surgery extends the recovery time and raises serious questions over how effective he will be once he returns.

The Redskins have replaced Hall in the starting lineup with rookie fourth-round draft selection Bashaud Breeland who has played very well while filling in. Breeland has recorded 26 tackles so far this season.

Hall's contract runs through 2017 and holds a cap hit of $4.8 million next season. Washington could save $2.375 million if they release him before then, however.

Washington will play the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
