Tiger Woods spoke to reporters on Tuesday ahead of this weekend's 113th U.S. Open. He touched on yesterday's handshake with Sergio Garcia and discussed the upcoming PGA tournament, ESPN reports.

Monday marked the first time Woods and Garcia were face to face since the latter's racist "fried chicken" remark. The two encountered each other on a driving range at the Merion Golf Club; they spoke briefly and shook hands.

Woods revealed more about their short conversation on Tuesday during his press conference.

"No, we didn't discuss anything. Just came up and said, hi, and that was it," Woods told reporters. Asked if Garcia apologized, Woods answered: "It's already done. We've already gone through it all. It's time for the U.S. Open and we tee it up in two days."

Asked again about an apology from Garcia, Woods said, "No, we haven't had time for that."

Woods was happier to talk about the tournament. He's paired with Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott, golf's No. 2 and No. 3 ranked players.

"I think it will be fantastic," Woods said. "I was part of that the first time they did it in '08. And it was very electric out there. I know they've done it a few more times. It's not very often we get 1, 2 and 3 in one group and 4, 5, 6 in another.

"For me it's been fantastic. Normally we don't get those types of pairings very often. When you do it just makes it that much more enjoyable for us as players."

This weekend gives Woods the opportunity to win his fourth U.S. Open title, his 15th major title and his fifth tournament win of 2013. Woods Tees off on Thursday, June 13 at 1:14 p.m. ET.

The U.S. Open runs from June 13-16.
